City of Belleville Solar PV Project: Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre

In March of 2012, Ainsworth completed the construction of a 500kW rooftop solar photovoltaic project at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre located in the City of Belleville. This 500kW rooftop solar system generates revenue via the Ontario Power Authority's Feed-in Tarriff (FIT) program and is one of the largest, municipally-owned solar pv systems in Canada.

This project cost $3M to construct and was completed ahead of schedule, as well as significantly under the City’s original budget,

This system will generate renewable power for a minimum of 20 years. At the end of 20 years, this project should generate over $6M for the City.
