Commitment To Safety
At Ainsworth, the health and safety of our employees, and our clients’ staff and the general public is paramount. We are also mindful that if anything happens to a worker that it has an impact on the entire family. For these reasons, our processes and practices not only meet, but often exceed provincial standards.

Ainsworth is Certification of Recognition (COR) certified. The process for receiving the COR requires that an external audit be conducted and that the stringent COR standards and requirements be met and maintained.

We also invest heavily in health and safety training and in personal protection equipment for our people. As a result, we have a lower than industry average incidence of accidents and workplace hazards.
We provide our people with the following training:
  • In-depth job orientation including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training
  • WHMIS
  • First Aid
  • Fire Safety
  • Fall Protection
  • Ladder Safety
  • Aerial Lift and Elevated Work Platform
  • Arc Flash and Lockout (If hazardous energy is not released in a controlled manner while servicing and maintaining equipment, severe injuries can result.)
As part of our standard operating process, we routinely monitor what is happening in the field to ensure that our people (and yours if they are in the vicinity when work is being conducted) are as safe as possible… and revisit the training on a regular basis.

Halt operations immediately and assess the best options for moving forward. In addition, we adhere to RAC (Requisite/Risk Assessment and Controls) processes to assess and minimize of each potential hazard. When a hazard is identified, we…

  •   Determine if one process can be substituted for another to achieve the same outcome with less risk (i.e. should we use different tools or methods?).

If not, controls are put in place to ensure that people and property are adequately protected. Depending on the type of hazard encountered, we might also require that a Health & Safety professional remain on site until at least temporary controls are put in place.

At Ainsworth, our commitment to the welfare of our employees, our clients’ employees and all who come into contact with us, means that we continuously seek new ways to upgrade our health and safety program and training and to provide the safest work environment possible.

We are extremely proud of our safety record and continue to promote safety in the workplace through our “Ainsworth Safety Academy” where experienced instructors lead safety programs for our employees.
